Tips on managing neck pain
top tips for managing neck pain

Neck pain can creep up from stress, poor posture, too much screen time (guilty!), or just carrying the weight of everyday life.

The good news? A few simple habits and gentle movements can make such a difference.

Here are my go-to tips to help ease tension, improve mobility and support a happy, healthy neck.

By being more aware of your posture and repositioning yourself is one of the easiest and most effective ways to reduce the strain on your neck. Things we do daily such as looking down on our phones, turning our necks to look at something for a long time instead of changing position and using repetitive movements can all affect how our neck feels. Making small changes like this, can really help.

Gentle stretching and moving regularly throughout the day will help relieve tension and improve flexibility.

Drinking more water can help reduce tension and headaches. Think of your muscle as a sponge, if the sponge is dry its not as flexible and squishy, add some moisture and it's much more flexible and supple.

Getting a good nights sleep all starts with the right support. I personally use a Groove Pillow which is a memory foam pillow that helps to keep your neck aligned. I really struggled with my neck for years and I brought myself one of these and honestly its been a game changer. I definately notice a huge difference when I'm on holiday without my pillow and within a few days I'm in pain again. Ill drop the link below for you to have a look. At the time of writing this, its priced at £35.

I do not earn anything from purchases made using the below link, I am simply sharing what I found beneficial for me.

Here are some gentle stretches that you can try at home to help relieve your neck pain...

Please note: These gentle stretches are intended as general guidance to help support relaxation and mobility. They are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

Please listen to your body and only move within a comfortable range. Never force a stretch or push through pain. If you experience worsening symptoms, numbness, tingling, dizziness, weakness, severe pain, or have any concerns about your neck pain, please seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional before continuing.

Start slowly and gently, never over-stretch, and only do what feels comfortable for you. Try incorporating these movements a couple of times a day as part of your self-care routine.

Important: Everyone’s body is different. If your neck pain is persistent, unexplained, or affecting your daily activities, it is recommended that you seek advice from your GP or a suitable healthcare professional.
