IPL acne treatments offer an effective, non-invasive way to manage active breakouts, reduce inflammation and improve overall skin clarity. Using advanced Intense Pulsed Light technology, I target the underlying causes of acne to help restore a smoother, calmer complexion.

 How IPL Acne Treatment Works

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) uses controlled pulses of light to target the bacteria and inflammation associated with acne. The light penetrates the skin and:

Kills acne-causing bacteria (P. acnes)

Reduces inflammation and redness

• Calms active breakouts

• Helps regulate excess oil production

• Supports healthier, clearer skin over time By treating acne at its root, IPL reduces the frequency and severity of breakouts while helping improve skin texture and tone.

What IPL Acne Treatment Feels Like

During your session, you’ll feel a quick, warm flick or light snap against the skin. Most clients describe it as mild and completely tolerable. The treatment is fast, and any warmth or redness afterwards usually settles within a few hours.

Check out my Youtube channel where I tackle some common questions that I am asked about this treatment.

Aftercare

Looking After Your Skin Post-Treatment

To protect your skin and support the best results, follow these aftercare steps:

• Avoid sun exposure and use SPF daily

 • Keep the skin cool for the rest of the day

Avoid heat treatments, hot showers, exercise and saunas for 24–48 hours

Do not use active skincare (retinol, acids, exfoliants) for 72 hours

• Keep the skin clean, hydrated and soothed

• Avoid tanning products for at least one week before and after treatment Your skin may feel slightly warm or appear pink after the session — this is normal and temporary

Risks

Potential Risks of IPL Acne Treatment

While IPL is safe when performed by a trained professional, it does carry some risks, including:

• Temporary redness or swelling

• Darkening or lightening of the skin (pigment changes)

• Mild crusting or dryness

• Sensitivity to sunlight

• Very rarely, burns and/or blistering on overly sensitive or sun-exposed skin

These risks are reduced significantly with a patch test to ensure correct settings, preparation and following aftercare.

Minimising the risk

Patch Test Required – Minimum 48 Hours Before Treatment

A patch test and full consultation is mandatory at least 48 hours before any IPL treatment. This allows me to assess your skin’s response to the light and ensure the treatment is safe and suitable for you.

If you’re ready to reduce breakouts and improve your skin health, IPL acne treatments at HAZE Beauty offer  a gentle, effective and proven solution. Book your consultation and patch test today to begin your journey to clearer, calmer skin.
